A bathroom remodel across Princeton, McKinney, Allen, Frisco, and the greater DFW metro typically runs $8,000 to $35,000, with the biggest swing coming from whether the project is a tub-to-shower conversion within the existing footprint or a full gut renovation that moves plumbing and changes the layout.

Why a No-Leak Guarantee Matters to the Number

A contractor who guarantees their waterproofing has to build to that standard every time, not just when it's convenient. That's part of why a fixed-price quote from a team backing the work with a no-leak guarantee is worth comparing directly against a lower bid that doesn't include one; the lower number sometimes reflects a shortcut you won't see until a leak shows up years later.

Get a written, fixed-scope quote that names the actual cabinetry, tile, and fixture lines, not "quality materials" with no further detail. Remodeling Done Wright starts every project with a free in-home consultation specifically so the quote reflects your real bathroom, not a generic per-square-foot guess.

Bathroom remodels across Princeton, McKinney, and the DFW metro typically run $8,000 to $35,000 depending on scope. What actually drives the price.

A real no-leak guarantee means the contractor stands behind the waterproofing system they installed, membrane, pan, and tile assembly, for a stated period after the project is finished, and will return to fix a leak traced to their work at no additional charge.

Why Waterproofing Failures Are So Expensive

A shower leak that goes undetected can damage subfloor, framing, and drywall well beyond the bathroom itself before anyone notices water where it shouldn't be. That's what makes waterproofing the single highest-stakes part of a bathroom remodel, and why a guarantee on it means more than a guarantee on cosmetic finish work.

Remodeling Done Wright's bathroom projects use GURU shower systems and back the finished waterproofing with a no-leak guarantee, which is the same standard the owners, Rickey and Kori, would want on their own home.

A no-leak guarantee on a shower or bathroom remodel is a real accountability commitment, not marketing language. Here's what it should actually cover.

A full kitchen remodel in the DFW metro typically takes 6 to 10 weeks of construction, with the total timeline from first design meeting to finished walkthrough running closer to 3 months once material selection and any needed permitting are factored in.

Design and material selection, cabinetry, countertops, tile, and fixtures, typically takes two to four weeks. Cabinet lead times through a materials partner like ProSource of Allen can add several more weeks depending on the product line and finish, and that clock doesn't start until every selection is locked in.

What Stretches a North Texas Timeline Specifically

Because Rickey and Kori manage every project personally rather than handing it off between crews, the schedule quoted at the start is the schedule they're accountable for holding, and they'll flag any long-lead item before it becomes a surprise mid-project.

A kitchen remodel in the DFW metro typically runs 6 to 10 weeks of construction. The real timeline, and what stretches it.

A tub-to-shower conversion makes sense for most primary bathrooms where the tub sits unused, but the decision changes if your home has only one bathroom or the primary is the only bath with a tub.

As long as a home has a tub somewhere, a hall bath or guest bath, converting the primary tub to a shower is low-risk for resale. Families with young kids and future buyers with kids still want a tub in the house, just not necessarily in the primary suite.

Homeowners across Frisco's newer master-planned communities and McKinney's more established neighborhoods both bring this project to us regularly, for the same underlying reason: the tub wasn't getting used, and the shower needed to be bigger and better.

Most DFW homeowners converting a primary bathroom right now are replacing the tub with a walk-in shower, but keeping a tub somewhere else in the house. The real tradeoffs.

In most Collin County cities, including Princeton, McKinney, Allen, Frisco, and Plano, a permit is required for any kitchen or bathroom remodel that moves or adds plumbing, changes electrical wiring, or alters a wall. Purely cosmetic work, paint, cabinet hardware, a faucet swap on existing plumbing, typically doesn't.

Unpermitted plumbing or electrical work can become a real problem at resale, since an inspector or buyer's agent can flag it, and it can affect an insurance claim if one ever traces back to that work. A contractor who tells you permits aren't needed for work that clearly touches plumbing or electrical is a real red flag.

Permitting and inspections are scoped into the project and the price from day one on any job that touches plumbing, electrical, or a wall, city rules vary slightly, but the underlying standard is the same, and it's built into the schedule, not treated as a surprise add-on.

Permits are required across Collin County cities for any remodel that moves plumbing, changes wiring, or alters a wall. Cosmetic-only updates usually don't need one.

Choose a remodeling contractor by getting a written, fixed-scope contract with a real warranty and a specific payment schedule, and by checking recent local references, not just star ratings alone.

Red Flags That Should End the Conversation

"We stand behind our work" isn't a warranty. A real one names a specific term (Remodeling Done Wright's is a no-questions-asked 2-year warranty, plus a no-leak guarantee specifically on waterproofed bathrooms) and a specific process for using it, not a verbal promise that's hard to hold anyone to later.

Why Local, Owner-Managed Teams Are Worth Asking About

A contractor where the owners are the ones on-site, not just the ones who showed up to sell the job, tends to have a real personal stake in how the finished project holds up. Ask directly who will actually be managing your project day to day, and whether that's the same person who quoted it.

Vet a DFW remodeling contractor on a written fixed-scope contract, a real warranty, and local references, not just a low bid. Red flags to walk away from.
